WHAT: OIL LAMP

Oil Lamps were used to provide light before electricity.

A reservoir of oil fed a wick made of cloth that was set aflame.

Lamps of all sizes were used during the Revolutionary War from small hand-held lamps (like flashlights today), to street lamps and even lighthouses!
