WHERE: CONCORD, MASSACHUSETTS

Concord is a town in Massachusetts that was one of the sites of the first battle in the American Revolution.

The colonists stored their military supplies in Concord. General Thomas Gage of the British army was commanded to destroy these supplies. He was also instructed to arrest two of the more vocal rebel leaders - Samuel Adams and John Hancock in the nearby town of Lexington.

Paul Revere and William Dawes made the famous midnight ride to warn the Americans of the British advance on the towns of Lexington and Concord and to warn Adams and Hancock to avoid being captured.
