One of two governing bodies, the House of Commons and the House of Lords that make up the British Parliament.
Unlike the House of Lords, the Members of the House of Commons are elected by the citizens; similar to our Senators. The House of Lords, on the other hand are Bishops, Hereditary Peers and Life Peers.
In the House of Commons, Members of Parliament put forward and debate new laws. MPs also question the Government to make sure that the Government is doing its job properly. They must agree to the money that the Government collects in taxes and spends on services.
