WHO: SAMUEL ADAMS

1722-1803

He was a cousin of John Adams.

He was one of four men elected to represent the Massachusetts Bay Colony at the First and Second Continental Congresses.

He led Boston's resistance to the Tea Act, which reached its high point with the Boston Tea Party.

He served as governor of Massachusetts from 1793 to 1797.
