Did you know that women were not allowed to fight in the Colonial Army? That didn't stop Deborah Samson, who dressed up like a man and fought anyway. Our history is often different than what we think it is, and that's what makes this show exciting. Sarah and James take you right into the heart of revolutionary America and help you understand what was really going on. You'll meet George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Benedict Arnold, John Adams, Abigail Adams, John Paul Jones and many more famous people. When you do meet them, you'll also see that the things they did were often dangerous, and they failed as often as they succeeded. However, the people behind the American Revolution never gave up. That went for the generals as well as the soldiers and the farmers, women and children who supported them with food, care and love.

You will also discover that things were not close to perfect. People from Africa were sold as slaves. Women had little say in any legal matters. The Native Americans were driven farther and farther inland. The states argued back and forth over everything, and the soldiers often went unpaid for months.

Yet, somehow a new nation was born. New laws were passed and a new form of government was created. Over the forty original episodes of Liberty's Kids you will come to meet the people who formed this new country and the ideals for which they were willing to give their lives. This is their story... This is your story.
