ONE LIFE TO LOSE
James and Sarah meet Nathan Hale and witness this man's deep conviction and commitment to the American fight for freedom, which inspires them both. They are determined to make sure everyone hears his final words.
HISTORICAL CONTENT
A failed peace conference between the British Admiral Howe and John Adams and Ben Franklin convinces the American leaders that the British have no interest in making peace (9/11/76). While the meetings are ongoing, a new spy is sent out to get inside information for the colonists. However, Nathan Hale is caught spying and hanged (9/22/76) prior to which he utters his famous words "I regret that I have but one life to give to my country."
FICTIONAL STORY
James and Sarah are at first unimpressed with Nathan Hale. However, his deep conviction and commitment to the American fight for freedom inspires them both and they are determined to make sure everyone hears his final words.
