HISTORICAL CONTENT
Ben Franklin is appointed to a commission to negotiate a treaty with the French. He sails for France aboard the Reprisal (10/24/76). Just after he leaves, Fort Washington surrenders, which is a catastrophe for the American cause (11/12/76) as General Washington fails again to win a battle.
